Westside is surrounded by Cannonborough, North Central, and Hampton Park Terrace and is on the western side of the peninsula. Homes here are similar to that of quality and price to Eastside and some of North Central, ranging from $39,900 for a handyman special to $799,000 for a luxury condo at The Bristol. Westside is home to the Joseph P. Riley Baseball Stadium where the popular Riverdogs games are held through the Spring and Summer. It also includes The Citadel, and Brittlebank Park, which is next to the Stadium and has a playground and fishing pier with boat dock. The Horizon, a development that has been in the works for years, is an urban, mixed-use community that will be built here. According to the Post and Courier, the vision is to transform the largely empty area bounded by Lockwood Drive, Hagood Avenue and Fishburne and Spring streets into some 2 million square feet of apartments, offices, and research space over the next couple of decades.
